Tachograph downloads, done before you’ve had the porridge.
RSA guidance says driver cards every 21 days and vehicle units every 3 months. Traxsit downloads both automatically, remotely, on schedule — and stores everything securely. Nobody walks the yard with a download key. Nobody forgets a truck that’s been away for three weeks.

From install to inspection-ready in three steps
Automatic remote downloads, organised by vehicle and driver.
1 — We install a download device
Our own engineers fit a remote download device in each vehicle, at your yard, with minimal downtime. Installs nationwide.
2 — Files collect themselves
VU and driver card data downloads remotely on schedule, even when the truck never comes home — long-haul, on hire or parked at a depot.
3 — Everything lands in your account
Stored securely, organised by vehicle and driver, ready to hand to the RSA, your analyst, or Traxsit’s own analysis.
Why fleets switch to automatic downloads
Never miss a legal deadline
The download schedule runs itself. You see at a glance what’s downloaded and what’s due — driver cards every 21 days, vehicle units every 3 months.
Get your Saturdays back
Manual downloading across a large fleet is a day’s work a month. Automate it to zero and free your transport office for the work that matters.
No missed vehicles
Long-haul, on hire, or parked at a depot 200km away — the files come in anyway. No truck slips through because it never came back to the yard.
Secure retention
Records kept for at least 12 months as required, encrypted, backed up and exportable — ready to produce the moment an inspector asks.
The rules, in one breath
In Ireland the driver card must be downloaded every 21 days and the vehicle unit (VU) every 3 months (RSA / cvrt.ie), and tachograph data must be kept available for inspection for at least 12 months. Operators can face penalties of up to €5,000 and/or 6 months per offence, and both the driver and the operator can be liable. Traxsit downloads both automatically on schedule and stores the files securely for as long as you need them. Full guide: fleet compliance in Ireland →

How often must tachograph data be downloaded? +
In Ireland the driver card must be downloaded every 21 days and the vehicle unit (VU) every 3 months (RSA / cvrt.ie). Traxsit handles both automatically and remotely, so neither deadline depends on someone remembering to plug in a download key — and we can adjust how often the downloads run to suit how your company operates.
What is remote tachograph download? +
Remote download means a device fitted in the vehicle pulls the driver card and vehicle unit data over the mobile network on a set schedule, without anyone visiting the truck. The files arrive in your Traxsit account organised by vehicle and driver, even when the vehicle is away for weeks.
How long must tachograph records be kept? +
Tachograph data must be kept available for inspection for at least 12 months. Traxsit stores every downloaded file securely — encrypted, backed up and exportable — for as long as you need it, so you can produce records the moment an inspector asks.
Do I still need the driver card if downloads are automatic? +
Yes. Drivers still use their driver card in the vehicle as normal, and the card must still be downloaded every 21 days. Traxsit simply automates that download remotely instead of someone collecting the card and plugging it into a reader.
What about driver infringements? +
Downloading the files is the first step; reading them for infringements is the second. Traxsit Tacho Analysis takes the files this product collects and flags drivers’ hours infringements, produces driver reports and sends notifications automatically.
Can I see driver hours and remaining time from the downloads? +
The downloads collect the raw files; paired with Traxsit Tacho Analysis they become live running totals of driving and working time, hours remaining today, this week and across the fortnight, and automatic flags against drivers’ hours rules and the Working Time Directive — the view dispatchers use to schedule the next job and keep drivers the right side of a fine.
